This eight-story facility was designed to capture views of the Mobile Bay and represents the style of architecture found at the Grand Hotel and similar bay architecture.
This building will serve as a prototype for four additional phases. The construction consists of post-tensioned two-way concrete slabs supported by concrete columns and shear walls designed to meet the code required 140 miles per hour wind loads.
Light gauge steel mansard roof trusses are supported by the roof slab, which also includes a rooftop “plaza”.
The foundations are pile caps on auger cast piles.
