St. Marks Catholic Church

  • This project consists of a new 40,000 square foot church located on Highway 119.

  • The gabled roof system is constructed with a pre-engineered structural steel rigid frame system.

  • The high eaves required extensive structural steel wall frames located between the building frames.

  • The balcony is framed with conventional steel joists and concrete slab and a full length catwalk is suspended from the ridges of the sanctuary.

  • A basement area located beneath the altar is framed with a conventionally reinforced concrete beam and slab system.

  • This system was selected to minimize transmission of sound and vibrations from the mechanical system located in the basement.

  • The foundations are conventional shallow foundations.
